Hot Out of the Dryer.....

I had two old quilts on display and they needed to be cleaned before they were packed for their journey. When I first started quilting my favorite quilts were the muslin, worn, loved, soft old quilts. Of course I couldn't afford to go buy one so I just had to make one of my very own. I new the only way I would ever finish a quilt like this was to take a class - the last class I ever took. It was a 3 parter and this girl was so excited to go.
The night of the class I fixed dinner for the gang and headed to town. I had carefully packed my supplies - included were a new pair of scissors given to me by a friend and off I went. Sat down and folded my hands and the teacher finally arrived, opened up a book and said, "Let me read this for just a moment to see how to make this quilt." I will tell you I could have just cried. My first teacher at my Beginners Class kept us on the edge of our chairs every night with tons of information and facts about quilting and this lady had to read a book first!!!
Once she read the instructions we got started and I can remember chaining all those little pieces and my daughter sitting behind the sewing machine cutting the little pieces apart. I got the quilt all pieced by the end of the 3 class and off it went to my mom's for her to do the quilting. Another sweet memory........

Another beautiful quilt!! Do you use any on your beds with dust ruffles? I had one that I used like that for years and I loved it.
