PINK!!

I was sitting here looking out the window, the trees still have brown leaves on them, two weeks from now I will be looking at a whole different landscape. Each day there is so much to do, everything we own is sitting in living room or garage ready to go inside a moving truck. I find if I stitch just a little everyday I keep the nerves from bursting out with excitement. I have so many things to look forward to this year. My dearest friend from high school is retiring in a few days and I hope to spend a lot of time with her. We both love to shop at all the cute little stores in WA & Oregon, so hopefully she can show me the best places to go buy some goodies for our new home. We can drive to see our kids in May for their birthdays and my dear friend that dyes all of the beautiful threads and ribbons I use, maybe we can spend a few hours together now and then. I hope to go to Sisters, OR for the wonderful quilt show there in July and spend a few days at the ocean. Jerry and I love walking along the beach everyday. The mountains that surround Boise are full of horse trails, camping and fishing and I intend for us to enjoy them all summer. We have worked the whole time in OK building a home, we didn't get to enjoy our time here.
I have been designing some pincushions to put into patterns once we get moved. I have discovered something about myself - I do enjoy stitching someone else's patterns but to sit and design something myself is so special. It seems my mind gets quiet and my hands have a mind of their own. I still love to make quilts but designing the little wool projects seem to be so perfect for me. I can draw and draw and when the drawing is exactly what I have in mind I can turn it into beautiful fabric and threads. I truly have a lot to be thankful today even if I have a living room full of brown boxes.......

I'm not sure where Sisters, Oregon, is but I hope if you get close enough that you and your husband come for a nice long visit! There is enough around here to entertain you for a few days for sure.

Blessings,
Dianne
