6th Day of Christmas Joy......

I love Lizzie Kate Santa's designs,
I wish I could stitch faster
&
get them all done!

I have some on the tree
and
some pillows here and there....

But that's all the pictures for today
I have a great recipe
for you!

Apple Cherry Crumble Bars
3 cups dried applies, 3/4 cup dried cherries
1 3/4 cups apple cider
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups oats
1.5 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 sticks cold butter cut in small pieces.
Simmer applies, cherries and cider in a covered saucepan,
stir occasionally, until fruits are soft about 5 minutes.
Drain, reserving 2 TBSP liquid.  Let cool.
Chop fruit add 2 tbsp. sugar, 1/4 tsp cinnamon & liquid.
Stir together oats, flour, baking soda, salt, remaining sugar &
remaining cinnamon in a large bowl.
Cut in butter until crumbs are the size of peas and
maybe a little larger..  Press 4 cups of oat mixture
into bottom of a 9 x 13 buttered pan.  Spread fruit filling
on top leaving a border around the edges.  Sprinkler remaining
mixture on top.  Bake in a 375 degree oven for about
35 minutes.  Let cool.
These will make 24 bars and maybe just maybe
keep for 3 days, hmmmm
