Friends.....

Yesterday I received this sweet little card from a dear friend. Have you ever thought to yourself "Why didn't I think of doing that"? Its a cute little picture but the purple cover is full of flower seeds! You put it in some dirt and water it and up come the flowers! Now let me tell you about this friend. We met at a women's Bible study about 24 years ago! OF course I was only 10 then.... I was babysitting two little kids and had two of my own at the time and she would come to visit and just start helping me make beds, cleaning or whatever. And then they moved away - my little heart was broken. At the time I couldn't afford to even have a car let alone drive an hour to see her. We kept in touch through some pretty rocky years though. Our kids grew and hers got married mine just went on to college and worked and worked and worked. They bought a home in Lake Tahoe and she would leave the keys for us to use anytime we wanted. She would tell me about all the best places to go visit. There was a little nursey there that had the best ideas. I will always remember, they painted a dresser bright blue and planted yellow and purple flowers in the drawers. When we built a home out in the country a big hugh box arrived one day. I guess I had told her how I was decorating each room because there were the sweetest little gifts for each room! I still have all those gifts. They traveled with me to Oklahoma and now to Idaho. When we were going through the worst time in our lives in Oklahoma I pretty much lost all my memories but for the past year or so they are coming back and the memories I told you about today are very much treasured in my heart............
