Moonlit Tree....

I have photo from a Country Living magazine from years ago of a Christmas tree someone decorated for the forest animals on their property.  The photo was taken at night with the moon shinning, I have no idea how they accomplished that but it was simply breathtaking.  I no longer have a big piece of property but I do have a sweet little 5 foot pine tree that I plan on putting white twinkly lights on this Christmas season.  There is only one more pincushion for tomorrow and its entirely different than any other that you have seen.  But I will tell you this - the Christmas ornaments are just plain adorable.......

Blue Birds....

Are you tired of seeing pincushions yet - hope not - there are just a few more to go.  Then we get to start with the cute little Christmas ornaments.  I finished up the drawing part early this morning, they are very cute, only 3 inches and fit very nicely on a twiggy tree.......

Wooly Rabbit......

Went to the Farmer's Market today, bought some lovely soap from dear CeCe.  When I teach my wool embroidery class next month, I will be giving away one of her newer soaps.     This little pincushion has a wonderful background of a real thick textured wool - just love that stuff!  I ordered a bunch of new wool yesterday for my project for McCall's Quilting magazine and for some new Christmas designs I drew up.
Its still pretty warm here, wish they hadn't closed the pool up, we could be enjoying it still.  It's very interesting weather here, when the sun goes down, it instantly cools way down to 55 and then it takes a very long time to heat back up again.  But the farmers have been cutting hay, corn and we think we saw a load of potatoes today.  They were either very large potatoes or very small sugar beets........

Flower Trees....

First of all Thank you for the nice comments on the little pincushions!  There seems to be a lot of pieces in one little space BUT wool is so much fun to work with.  It doesn't stretch or fray, I use just a little glue to hold it in place while stitching.  I can draw a design and within an hour have it cut and placed on the background and almost stitched!
The retail cost of each pattern is $7.00 and I have decided to sell directly to quilt shops or needlework shops.  I like to do all I can to encourage business for them!  I got a wonderful email this week - McCall's Quilting Magazine will feature one of my wool designs next year - How sweet is that?
I have started work on some Christmas designs and they are so much fun!
Have a great weekend.....

A Little Pink.......

I have a couple of old crocks that I love that inspired this little pincushion. The thread for the hearts has the prettiest name - Hummingbirds & Hollyhocks. CeCe is so good at naming her threads but she is better at coming up the colors. She gave me a little bag of fall threads that I just love. A little piece of silk ribbon and a new Silk Pearl - hopefully she will add it to the collection soon so I can use it in a design.

I hope you like my crock full of hearts.......

Ant Parade.....

Thank you for all the nice comments on my pincushions! Lets hope the stores like them just as much. Today I am working on my new quilt, lots of scraps are involve so I think it will take awhile to get it all cut out. The pieces are so very big I will just have to sit down and hand stitch everything down. I need 4 hands - two to quilt and two to stitch......

Rocky Mountain......

Good Monday morning......

Yesterday I enjoyed stitching on Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow. I saw this piece done at Shepherd's Bush and it was so very beautiful. The ladies had changed the floss out to over dyes like I am doing and the frame was perfect! I can hardly wait to get to the framing! I was stitching trees using Autumn Leaves by The Gentle Art - just perfect. This morning I am back working on my patterns for the little pincushions.

Have a wonderful week!

Wool Pincushions.....

I am thinking about releasing my little wool pincushions as patterns. Do you think they would sell? Not sure where to start but since today is a holiday I will draw some cute pattern covers up and just have fun.

If you have some thoughts just send them along, have a great holiday!
